Back to basics as dancers show off the essentials
QUT's top young dancers will go back to where it
all began in Essentially
Dance 08, opening on Tuesday (17 June) at Gardens Theatre.
With a full-length jazz piece by special guest
choreographer Keith
Hawley, and two contemporary dance works by QUT's own
Shaaron Boughen and Csaba Buday, Essentially Dance 08 focuses
on the essence of movement and performance, showcasing the
incredible agility and skill of QUT's
dance performance and dance in education students.
Final-year dancers will also travel to
China's GuangDong Modern Dance Festival to perform these
pieces in late July.

13-21 June, 7.30pm Tickets
$8-$12 Bookings 3138 5495 How do you
survive life in a virtual ghost town without becoming a
ghost yourself?
In Thatcher’s Britain, the grey
fog of depression invades the working class streets of
Lancashire. Guided by an unscrupulous drunk, the
audience embarks on an evening's tour along a scruffy
road, atching glimpses of the inhabitants and their
seemingly desperate lives.
NB: Road is performed
promenade-style, with scenes inside The Loft and outside
around the Creative Industries Precinct. Make sure to
bring a woolly jumper!
