We roll out the red carpet as Artists vs. Hollywood
Direct from it's 2007 showing in the UK is the
exclusive Brisbane premiere of Artists
vs. Hollywood at The
Block on 12 June.
An exhibition of film and video works looking at
the relationship between contemporary art and mainstream
cinema, Artists vs. Hollywood is headlined by two-time Venice
Biennale participant Stan Douglas.
Douglas' work is featured alongside five
other high-profile video artists, including Candice Breitz,
winner of the 2007 International Prize for Contemporary Art
and another Venice Biennale participant.

In Thatcher’s Britain, the grey
fog of depression invades the working class streets of
Lancashire. Guided by an unscrupulous drunk, the
audience embarks on an evening's tour along a scruffy
road, atching glimpses of the inhabitants and their
seemingly desperate lives.
